PBKS Continue Strong Run in IPL 2026
Punjab Kings were exceptional in chasing 196 against Mumbai Indians. Put in to bat Mumbai posted 195/6 with brilliant 112 not out from Quinton de Kock and a half century from Naman Dhir. Punjab Kings however chased the target with minimal fuss ending at 198/3 in 16.3 overs.
Prabhsimran Singh smashed a match winning 80 not out from 39 balls while Shreyas Iyer hit 66 from 35 balls. The pair put on a remarkable 139 run stand for the 3rd wicket and this took the match completely away from Mumbai Indians. Prabhsimran continued his fine form to get his second half century of the season while Iyer got his third half century in as many games of IPL 2026.
Team effort and winning momentum
This was Punjab Kings fourth victory in five games and they are now unbeaten and on top of the points table. Their strong batting and calm chase have been key to their success this year. Meanwhile Mumbai Indians are struggling with form despite the brilliant individual brilliance of de Kock whose century was the only saving grace for them. Punjab Kings look on course for a dominant year with players stepping up and a very balanced team overall, it is no wonder Preity Zinta is so pleased with the Punjab Kings' early season success.
