Alex Cooper joins Anne Hathaway for acting debut in ‘Verity’
Alex Cooper is ready to make her mark from the podcast Call Her Daddy to expanding her presence in films, as she joins a high-profile literary adaptation alongside established Hollywood names.
Cooper is set to make her acting debut in Verityappearing alongside Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, with the first footage unveiled by Amazon MGM Studios at CinemaCon.
According to reports, Cooper plays herself in the film, appearing in a scene where she interviews Hathaway’s character, author Verity Crawford, on her podcast, marking her transition from digital media into on-screen roles.
The film is based on Colleen Hoover’s 2018 psychological thriller and follows a struggling writer, played by Johnson, who is hired to complete Verity’s book series but uncovers disturbing secrets within an unfinished manuscript.
Verity joins a growing list of Hoover adaptations, including It Ends With Us, Regretting Youand Reminders of Himas studios continue to tap into the author’s popular titles.
The film is scheduled for release on October 2, adding to the slate of anticipated book-to-screen projects this year.
