Seann Walsh was gobsmacked after learning he had become the first campmate axed from I'm A Celebrity... South Africa. After losing last night's eating trial to Jimmy Bullard, Harry Redknapp was forced to choose a member of team Lion to send home.

Walking back into camp, he told his teammates: "Unfortunately, because we lost, they've given me the bad task of having to choose one of our fantastic campmates here to go home." A baffled Seann asked: "One of us is about to go home?"

When asked by Ashley if he was being serious, Harry confirmed: "Not a wind up. I wish it was and it's been so difficult."

Harry named each of his campmates apart from Seann, saying they had all been great so far.

The former football manager even got his teammate's name wrong when it came to revealing who he had chosen.

Harry continued: "It's not been easy but I've come down in the end, Stuart. I've had to make a decision and I chose you."

A gutted Seann responded: "Oh, fair enough."

He added: "Yeah, no, that's absolutely fair enough. That must've been tough. Don't worry, Harry."

Attempting to soften the blow, Harry responded: "I love you, you've been great. But someone had to go."

Seann admitted the upside to leaving was being able to reunite with his family.

David Haye agreed it was the right decision, claiming it was because Seann had failed to win a challenge.

It's safe to say viewers weren't pleased with Harry's decision as one wrote on X: "Love Harry but he made the wrong decision. I knew he'd get rid of Seann, so disappointed!"

Another agreed: "Stop no I can't believe Seann is 1st out of @imacelebrity."

A third echoed: "'Seann is the weakest out of the group' why does it always have to be about power David. I'm so upset that Seann has gone, he was and always has been my fave! Get David out next I beg!!"

A fourth posted: "Seann may not have been the best at trials but he was in the elite savannah scrub which was just pure laughs, wholesomeness, entertainment and vibes."

Another viewer added: "I knew Harry would pick Seann. Keep the athletes and keep Ashley and Scarlett together. It was obvious Seann was the one going. Gutted! He was brilliant and deserved to be in longer."
