The mass strike of the administrators of the purchase-sale cooperative society in Tehsil Nohar, District Hanumangarh ended today after talks with the delegation of the Bharatiya Kisan Union. It was decided in the talks that the procurement of crops at support price (MSP) would be started from tomorrow at the tehsil headquarters.
Bharatiya Kisan Union President Rajendra Sihag was present in the talks as a representative along with his colleagues. The delegation included KVK President Dharampal Dil, General Secretary Prithvi Singh Sahu, Pratap Singh Saran, Vice President Gangaram Beniwal, Omprakash Mothsara, Krishna Meghwal and Manish Kumar and other members. Administrator Neeraj Mittal was present on behalf of the committee.
The delegation said that due to the strike of the administrators, the crop procurement work was halted, due to which the farmers were facing problems and their tokens were also about to expire. Telephone talks were held with higher officials demanding immediate resolution of farmers’ problems.
After this it was agreed that the procurement process would be started again from tomorrow and the farmers would be called and their crops would be purchased at the support price.
Bharatiya Kisan Union President Rajendra Sihag said that the organization is fully committed to selling every grain of farmers’ crops at support price.
