CBSE 10th Marks Percentage Calculator: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the results for the Class 10 Board Examinations, 2026. This year, 93.70% of students have passed the CBSE Class 10 Board Exams. An improvement in the pass percentage has been recorded compared to the previous year. While the release of the Class 10 Board results has brought an end to the wait for over 2.5 million students, both students and parents remain concerned about how to calculate their overall percentage based on the marks obtained in the results.
Let us explore this in detail. We will learn how to calculate the percentage based on the marks secured in the CBSE Class 10 Board results.
**How to Calculate Percentage in CBSE Class 10 Results**
How does one calculate the percentage of marks obtained in the CBSE Class 10 Board results? To answer this, a teacher at GBSS, Sunder Nagri, Delhi, explained that, according to the CBSE Percentage Calculation Guide, if a student has taken more than five subjects, the marks obtained in the *best five* subjects can be considered for calculation. For instance, if the result sheet lists marks for six subjects, the percentage can be calculated based on the marks secured in the top five of those subjects. Illustrating this with an example, he explained:
To calculate the percentage for Class 10, add up the marks obtained in the five main subjects. Divide this sum by 5, and then multiply the result by 100.
Explaining this further, Shoaib Rana provides another example. He states that if a student has secured 425 marks out of a total of 500 marks (across five subjects), their overall percentage would be 85%.
**2.471 Million Students Appeared for the CBSE Class 10 Board Exams**
The CBSE conducted the Class 10 Board Examinations from February 17 to March 11, with a total of 93.70% of the students successfully passing the exams. This year, more than 24.83 lakh students registered for the Class 10 Board examinations, out of whom over 24.71 lakh students appeared for the exams. A total of 23.16 lakh students have passed. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the Class 10 results this year approximately one month ahead of schedule. The primary objective behind this is to provide students with more time to prepare for the Class 10 second examination.
