Travel on Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will still be free

Delhi Dehradun Expressway Toll Tax: The high-speed Delhi-Dehradun Expressway connecting the capital Delhi with the capital of Uttarakhand has been opened for the general public. This 213 kilometer long expressway was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, due to which now the journey from Delhi to Dehradun is being completed in about two and a half hours. However, it is a matter of relief for those traveling on this expressway that toll tax is not being collected at present.

According to officials, the process of determining the toll rate and appointing an agency for collection has not been completed yet. Sources in the National Highway Authority say that tenders for toll collection will be issued soon. After this the agency will be selected and then toll collection will be started.

According to officials, this entire process may take at least a week or more. Till then the drivers will get a chance to travel without paying toll. This means that if you are also planning to travel, then make it this week. It will be a little cheaper.

Delhiites may get relief

The portion of the expressway from Akshardham to Loni border is likely to remain toll-free in future also, which will provide great relief to the daily commuters of Delhi and Ghaziabad. However, no official statement has come out regarding this. If this happens, it will be a decision that will give great relief to the people of Delhi.

How much can the toll be?

As far as toll rates are concerned, it is estimated that around Rs 3.17 per kilometer may be charged. This rate may be higher than other expressways, because this route has six lanes and passes through the Shivalik hills. Modern technology and complex engineering has been used in its construction, on which about Rs 12,000 crore has been spent.

Overall, travel on this expressway will be completely free for a few days, but there are preparations to implement toll soon. The opening of this expressway is bringing great relief to Uttarakhand.
