A fresh injury concern has cropped up for Virat Kohli with the Indian Premier League 2026 fast approaching and Royal Challengers Bengaluru's next tie around the corner. Videos of Kohli spotted with a bandage wrapped around his left knee have led to queries about whether he would feature against the Lucknow Super Giants in the next contest.

The crucial fixture will be played on April 15 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Bandaged Knee Raises Concern Before LSG Clash

Concerns began to rise after a video that was shared on social media by the Lucknow Super Giants showed the RCB star walking with his left knee bandaged. The video also features Kohli sharing a laugh with Kane Williamson and hugging LSG captain Rishabh Pant.

This development has led to doubts regarding Kohli's inclusion against the Lucknow based franchise. During RCB's previous match against the Mumbai Indians, there were concerns that the veteran had injured his ankle as he was walking off the field.

However, it later came to light that Kohli was practicing in the nets. His bandage around his knee has nonetheless added more concern over his match readiness.

Kohli's Form Strong Despite Injury Scare

Should Kohli be ruled out, it would represent a significant loss for RCB, not least due to his exemplary form in this campaign. Across his four appearances thus far in IPL 2026, he has registered 179 runs with an excellent average of 59.66.

In his most recent innings against the Mumbai Indians, Kohli recorded a patient 50 runs from 38 deliveries, but seemed overtly frustrated on his departure, thumping his gloves and helmet on the ground.

The Royals, for their part, are off to an impressive start to the season. They are currently sitting third in the table with three victories and just a sole loss to their name from four matches. As defending champions, there is surely a keen desire to maintain their impressive rhythm. Kohli at the top of their batting order has played an integral role in this run, and his exclusion could leave them short.

No word as yet on whether Kohli will miss this encounter, but the sight of him with a heavily bandaged knee only serves to raise the stakes for RCB in this important fixture.
