India’s leading automaker Tata Motors will launch its new electric SUV in May 2026 Tata Sierra EV Preparing to launch. This car will be a special one for the company, as it will be a modernized and electric version of the old Sierra model. The Sierra EV will be offered in two options, single motor and dual motor, just like the Tata Harrier EV. Battery and range
The most talked about Tata Sierra EV is its range. As per the information, the single motor version could be offered with a 55kWh battery, while the dual motor version could get a larger 65kWh battery. The range is also expected to be longer due to the larger battery.
The official range has not been announced by the company yet, but it is estimated that this SUV can offer a range of over 600 km (company claim). In actual use the range is likely to be around 400 to 450 km, which is considered good for daily use. The Sierra EV is likely to weigh less than the Harrier EV, which may also benefit in range.

Who will compete with?
This SUV will compete directly with new electric SUVs like Mahindra BE.6 and Mahindra XEV 9e. Currently, most electric cars have a range of around 500 to 550 km. So if the Sierra EV offers a range of more than 600 km, it can gain a huge advantage in this segment. Moreover, the AWD feature will further strengthen its off-road capabilities.
Design and interior
Although the design of the Tata Sierra EV is inspired by the old Sierra, the modern touch is evident. The front end will come with a closed grille design, which has become a hallmark of electric cars. The interior is expected to get major changes with new screens, comfortable seats and advanced features. This SUV is being designed to give a premium feel, which may attract customers.
