Donald Trump has been hit with an abundance of backlash after seemingly depicting himself as Jesus Christ in a new image that had been shared online. The US President was asked by Fox News if it was he who had posted it, prompting Trump to admit that he was the one to do it, but he didn't see the resemblance. When he was asked the question he immediately shut down the reporter and said: "It wasn't depicted, it was me, I did post it. I thought it was me as a doctor and it had to do with Red Cross."

He continued: "Only the fake news could come up with that one so, I just heard about it and I said, 'how did they come up with that?' it's supposed to be me as a doctor making people better, and I do make people better. I make people a lot better." While Trump doesn't believe there was a resemblance, many people did, with even his supporters being left floored after the image circulated.

In the image, Trump had a glowing light behind him while appearing to miraculously heal a man lying in a hospital bed while one woman appeared to be praying. The US President however, has maintained he doesn't think it depicts him as Jesus.

Following the clip of him denying it on Fox News, one user responded: "Only Donald Trump would repost a pic of himself dressed in Biblical garb resembling depictions of Jesus and looking like he possesses divine healing powers and blame the "fake news" for seeing it that way."

Another sarcastically wrote: "Yes, because images of doctors generally feature them wearing ancient Judean robes with heavenly light emanating from their heads and hands and choruses of angelic (and demonic) figures hovering in the sky behind them and people gazing worshipfully at them and praying."

A third said: "Not even satire at this point just straight up delusion wrapped in confidence." Piers Morgan also took to X to share his thoughts after the image was posted, writing: "This has gone down very badly with many of Trump's biggest cheerleaders. He seems to be on a mission to p*** off absolutely everyone, for reasons that are beyond my understanding given his current approval numbers."

Trump's post has seemingly been deleted following furious backlash, including a lot of his own supporters. The President had posted on Truth Social the AI-generated image, prompting people from his own MAGA base including former Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene to write on X: "It's more than blasphemy, it's anti-Christ spirit."
