Jansuraj Party chief Prashant Kishore made a very sharp comment on the current political situation in Bihar at Supaul district headquarters on Monday. He created a stir in the political circles of the state by saying that whoever is the next Chief Minister of Bihar, his first priority will be Gujarat rather than the development of the state and the welfare of the people. Kishor said in clear words that the future Chief Minister will not have the power to take actual decisions and the state government will be run entirely on the direct instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He made this statement during an important meeting with party workers, which has raised questions on the increasing interference of the Center in the politics of Bihar.
Prashant Kishore also targeted the tenure of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He claimed that during the results of Bihar Assembly elections itself, it had become clear that Nitish Kumar would not remain on the post of Chief Minister for the next five years. Emphasizing his point, Kishor said that Nitish Kumar never received the real and full support of the total 202 MLAs of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), due to which the legitimacy and stability of his government is constantly being questioned. This comment gives rise to many speculations regarding the current political equations and future possibilities.
Prashant Kishore made serious allegations on the election process
Prashant Kishore made very serious allegations on the transparency and fairness of the election process. He directly said that Nitish Kumar has influenced the voters on a large scale. According to Kishore, the Chief Minister has bought votes by paying Rs 10,000 and to ensure his victory he also took the open cooperation of the Election Commission. He shared all these sensational allegations in front of the grassroots workers and officials of the party in the meeting of Jansuraj Party held at Nitmaya Hotel located at Supaul district headquarters, where the upcoming election strategies were being discussed. These allegations have sparked a new debate on electoral integrity in Bihar.
Kishore further said that anyone sitting on the Chief Minister’s chair in Bihar would be just a puppet. He will not have any real power to take any major or independent decision in the interest of the state, as every important policy decision and administrative direction will be taken from Delhi, i.e. by the duo of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah. He also raised many sharp questions about the possible chief ministerial face of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Kishor was indicating that no leader of the state BJP, no matter how powerful he is, will be able to work free from the influence and instructions of the Centre, due to which the autonomy of the leadership of Bihar is under deep threat.
The main objective of this meeting held in Supaul was to further strengthen the organization of Jansuraj Party at the grassroots level. Prashant Kishor took detailed feedback from the workers coming from remote areas on the current situation, serious problems of rural areas, expectations of the public and local political equations. A thorough review of the current situation of the organization was conducted, so that the party can emerge as an effective force and perform better in the upcoming assembly elections. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on preparation of election strategy, selection of potential candidates i.e. ticket distribution parameters and the deeper reasons for the previous defeat. All the workers together resolved to fight the next elections with full unity and dedication, so that the goals of the party can be achieved. Special emphasis was laid on increasing the party’s activism up to the booth level, establishing direct connect with the general public and raising their problems. Kishore explained to the workers that real change can be brought only by going among the people.
Prashant Kishore called the promise of one crore jobs an election slogan
On the development and employment front, Prashant Kishor rejected the promise of ‘one crore jobs’ made by the NDA government at the Centre, terming it as just an ‘election slogan’. He clarified that it is practically impossible to fulfill such big promises and it is just a way to mislead the public. He also expressed his deep concern about the increasing corruption and crime in Bihar. Kishor said that to effectively control these serious social problems and establish law and order in the state, a strong, visionary and concrete political will is required, which is nowhere visible in the present political scenario. According to him, the current leadership lacks real resolve and vision to deal with these challenges and give the right direction to the state.
Prashant Kishore also made an emotional and thought-provoking appeal to the general public of Bihar. He asked people to seriously consider their old and harmful tendency of voting on the basis of caste, religion and immediate benefits of government schemes. Kishor was clear that if this method of voting continues and people do not use their discretion to elect the right leadership, then there will be no major positive change in the social, economic and political condition of the state in the coming years. According to him, real progress of Bihar is possible only when the public exercises its right to vote thoughtfully, on issues of development, good governance and capable leadership, and not on the basis of emotional attachment or momentary gains. He warned that if this situation continues, Bihar will always remain backward.
