A big change is visible in Sukma due to the Naxal rehabilitation policy. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai visited the rehabilitation center and reviewed the schemes for skill development, employment and self-reliance. Thousands of people are joining the mainstream and starting a new life.

Raipur. Sukma, which was affected by Naxal violence for a long time, is now moving forward on the new path of peace, trust and development. In this sequence, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited the rehabilitation center located at Sukma district headquarters. He observed the rehabilitation and skill development activities conducted there. During this, the Chief Minister interacted with the rehabilitated people and listened to their experiences and wished them all the best for joining the mainstream and starting a new life.

Lives changing due to Naxal rehabilitation policy

The Chief Minister said that the state government is fully committed to connecting the lost people with the mainstream of society. The government is providing them a respectable life, employment and equal opportunities to move ahead. He said that the confidence visible in the eyes of the rehabilitated people is proof that any person can move in a new direction given the right guidance and opportunity.

Signs of positive change in Sukma and Bastar

The Chief Minister said that due to the effective Naxal rehabilitation policy, positive changes are visible in the entire Bastar region including Sukma. Till now 2392 Naxalites have decided to leave the path of violence and return to the mainstream. Of these, 361 people have been rehabilitated and have moved towards a self-reliant life.

Steps towards self-reliance through skill development

Training is being imparted in various fields like mason, tailoring, agricultural entrepreneurship and vehicle driving in the rehabilitation centre. So far, 307 beneficiaries have been trained in the year 2026. At the same time, 313 youth are also being given a stipend of Rs 10,000 every month, so that they can become financially strong.

Digital empowerment and women's participation

107 rehabilitated people have been given mobile phones by the district administration, so that they can connect with the digital world. The special thing is that 115 women are also moving towards becoming self-reliant through training and technical support and are setting a new example.

Employment Opportunities and Government Appointments

Giving relief to the families affected by Naxal violence, the government has given government jobs to 20 people in the police department and 95 people in the district administration under compassionate appointment. During the program, appointment letters were given to many beneficiaries including Mausam Sanjana of village Dhondra Konta and Bharat Kumar Hemla of Nagaras Jagargunda. Besides, appointment letters were also given to 10 new teachers in the education department.

Housing, kits and other facilities to the beneficiaries

The Chief Minister distributed mobile phones, mason kits, house keys under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and completion certificates to the rehabilitated people in the programme. On this occasion, 25 people were honored by giving them the keys of their residence.

'Balte Sukma' coffee table book released

The Chief Minister also released a coffee table book titled 'Changing Picture of Changing Sukma: From Rehabilitation to Development'. Along with this, he appreciated the presentations of the artists in the art center of the rehabilitation center and said that this change is not only a physical but also a symbol of social and mental change.

Presence of prominent public representatives in the program

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MP Bastar Shri Mahesh Kashyap along with other public representatives and senior officials were present in this program.
