A woman who was declared dead for 13 minutes has revealed how she was sent back wiith the message that "death isn't real - it's actually only the beginning". Nicole Kerr watched her life flash before her eyes as the Corvette spun out of control.
When it crashed into a large boulder, she was launched into the air before "smashing" into the ground. She was subsequently discovered by emergency responders "crumpled up like a piece of paper". Nicole, now 62, was pronounced dead and covered with a blanket for a full 13 minutes before being brought back to life. While on the "other side", she claims she gained an invaluable insight that completely transformed her life.
"I watched them pull that blanket over my body with a detachment that felt entirely natural," the former Air Force cadet told creatorzine.com. "Streams of brilliant white light flooded me from all sides.
"It wrapped every part of my being and felt like bliss. Instead of the pain of the impact, I only felt peace. And then, I was greeted by an angel, who I realised was my late grandfather. He showed me that the life I was living wasn't really mine."
Nicole, who was just 19 at the time, had recently enlisted in the Air Force cadets at her father's behest. While travelling back to base with a senior cadet, events took a dramatic turn for the worse.
She claims he made a sexual advance towards her and, when she declined, he allegedly "spun the wheel" in a fit of rage, causing the life-threatening collision. After the Corvette collided with the boulder, it overturned and threw both Nicole and her passenger onto the pavement.
On the "other side", she says she came to the realisation that none of this would have occurred had she followed her heart rather than bowing to the expectations of others.
She said: "I had only joined the Academy to please my father. I was living in a constant state of low-grade fear, trying to fit into a military mould that didn't align with my soul.
"I'd been living for someone else's approval and suppressing my own spirit to survive. I felt the weight of all that fear just melt away in the light. There was only total acceptance."
The angel then told Nicole it was time for her to return. She was devastated.
Nicole, from Colorado, US, said: "The thought of returning to a broken body was unbearable. I actually argued with him. I shouted that I didn't want to go and that I wanted to stay in that bliss forever. But I had no choice."
Back in the physical realm, a bystander who was an emergency medical technician performed a sternal knuckle press - a technique employed to induce pain and elicit a response.
At that instant, her right pupil flickered. Paramedics began CPR, and upon arrival at hospital, she was taken into surgery.
The full, harrowing extent of her injuries quickly became clear, encompassing multiple fractures, a shattered pelvis, a crushed wrist, severe trauma to her head and chest, along with a near-amputated foot due to nerve damage.
Thankfully, medical staff managed to stabilise her "mangled" body - but only temporarily.
She said: "Two weeks later, I developed sepsis and gangrene. My parents were told I wasn't expected to live long. I was rushed into surgery where my heart stopped - again.
"After going to the brilliant white light, another angel greeted me and told me my work on Earth was not yet done. There was a mission waiting for me."
She was on the brink of having her time of death declared when her heart began beating once more. She pulled through for a further three months before fluid flooded her lungs.
Nicole suffocated and experienced her third, and final to date, near-death experience. The message that her mission on Earth remained incomplete was conveyed yet again.
After being "zapped" back into her body, she made it her goal to teach people about the true meaning of life - and what death actually is.
She said: "For years, I hesitated to share my experience out of the fear of being misunderstood or labelled 'crazy'. But then I found other experiencers like me and realised those 13 minutes of death were actually the start of my new life.
"Death is not the end. We're all deathless beings having a temporary physical experience. I'm grateful to be able to talk about my experience and give strength to others.
"I came back to tell people they are loved beyond measure and help them look at God and Heaven in a way that is not filled with fear. My mission is to tell people not to be afraid of death so you can fully live this life now before you move into your next one."
