Princess Kate has long enjoyed sports but there's one she enjoys that Prince William can't understand. The sport has become a trend in recent years, with plenty of Brits taking part in the activity. Reader's Digest says Kate is obsessed with cold-water swimming and "swears by" cold plunging. The princess was reportedly encouraged by her parents to get into nature from a young age.
"The colder, the better. I absolutely love it - slightly to the point where William's saying, 'You're crazy,' and it's dark, and it's raining," she told Mike Tindall on an episode of his podcast, The Good, the Bad and the Rugby. "I will go and seek out cold water."
According to VeryWell Health, cold water plunging has an array of benefits.
It says: "Cold plunging is a type of cold water therapy that may help boost your metabolism and mood, among other potential health benefits."
It can help to increase metabolism, enhance mood, reduce inflammation, improve circulation and boost the immune system.
But these aren't the only benefits - it can also help to aid sleep quality, reduce pain, boost cognitive function and improve insulin sensitivity.
Women's Health says you might not have a cold body of water at your disposal, but you can still try a form of cold swimming.
It says that experts agree that a cold shower provides pretty much the same benefits, and that's a lot easier to come by.
You can also try finding a local cold plunge facility, Physical Therapist at DPT, Kristen Lettenberger, says.
While Princess Kate enjoys cold water swimming, Prince William much prefers other sports activities.
He has opened up about one his favourite ways to relax, admitting as his children grow up he is enjoying sharing his passion for soccer with them.
Prince William is a devoted fan of Aston Villa and revealed it has been a joy to get to bring his children to matches with him as they have grown.
