A top musician has sadly died after decades of performing alongside Genesis legend Phil Collins. Harry Kim was a member of the Phenix Horns, the famous horn section for Earth, Wind and Fire. He also performed with stars like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and The Four Tops over the years - but now he has sadly died at the age of 74.
Harry also had ties to the TV industry, working as the horn section leader and arranger for shows including American Idol and America's Got Talent. He was instrumental in founding the Phil Collins Big Band, touring the world with the legendary star in various sold-out gigs across the globe.
Harry's death from cancer was confirmed by his son on social media, with a Facebook post that read: "Dear friends, it is with a heavy heart that I share that my father lost his battle with cancer today, but is now rejoicing in the presence of the lord with my mother.
"Thank you for giving us privacy at this difficult time."
Harry lost his wife Cheryl to cancer when their son Kris was 24 years old. Harry said at the time: "He handled it so well, so grown up, while I fell apart like a child."
Phil Collins' official Instagram account has paid tribute to Harry, posting a snap of the pair together with a caption that read: "We're saddened to hear of the passing of Harry Kim, an extraordinary musician and friend who performed with Phil for decades."
Tributes from other fans quickly followed, with one writing: "Oh nooo! This breaks my heart. I loved Harry. Great man. Great trumpeter! Rest peacefully my friend, you made your mark."
Another echoed: "Harry was always so kind to me and a talented player, rest in paradise."
"Huge loss... rest well, my friend," somebody else said.
