Lucknow: Senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party Uttar Pradesh and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, while talking to the media on Sunday, made a sharp attack on women’s reservation, huge irregularities in the voter list and the foreign policy of the Central Government. He clearly said that if 35 percent reservation is to be given in the current assembly structure, the Aam Aadmi Party will immediately support it, but census is mandatory before making any increase or decrease in the seats. Delimitation without census is a direct betrayal of women.

Raising serious questions on the voter list of Uttar Pradesh, Sanjay Singh said that out of every 100 people in the state, there are 52 men and 48 women, but the share of men in the voter list is between 54.54 to 55 percent and that of women is only 45 to 45.64 percent. He questioned where these approximately two and a half to three percent women voters had gone. He also asked whether this difference is to women coming from backward, Dalit and minority classes and the government should clarify which women’s votes have been deducted.
Sanjay Singh said that this difference between the population ratio and the voter list figures is extremely worrying and is a danger sign for democracy. If such a large number of women are missing from the voter list, it raises serious questions on the fairness of the electoral process. He feared that this difference could affect women belonging to any particular class, especially backward, Dalit and minority classes.
He said that some people are trying to spread the illusion that this has caused loss to the Bharatiya Janata Party, whereas the truth is the opposite. Sanjay Singh said that now whatever voter number increases, the Bharatiya Janata Party will benefit from it, while the opposition will not benefit from it.
Highlighting the massive difference in the voter list, Sanjay Singh said that the employees of the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh prepared two different lists. One list was made for Municipality and Municipal Corporation and another list was made for Gram Panchayat elections. In the list released in December, the total voters were 17 crore 2 lakh, whereas when the assembly list was released in January, this number came down to 12 crore 55 lakh. He asked where the four and a half crore voters had disappeared.

Stepping up his attack on the government, Sanjay Singh said that SIR is a huge election scam and under this, names of voters have been deleted on a large scale. He said that in Lucknow itself, 22 to 23 percent votes were canceled, which means every fourth voter was declared fake. He questioned whether this was really possible.
Speaking on international issues, Sanjay Singh said that India is the land of Mahatma Gandhi, Gautam Buddha, Guru Nanak Dev and Sant Kabir, but today peace talks are being held by countries like Pakistan which trains terrorists. He termed it a failure of the Prime Minister’s “hee hee khee khee” foreign policy and said that such a policy weakens the country’s international credibility.
He said that foreign policy is not carried out jokingly, but one has to build reputation at the international level through one’s actions and character. When America’s permission has to be taken for every decision, then it can be understood what will be the position of the country in the world.
Sanjay Singh said that if war continues in the world, it will directly impact India. Due to the closure of the Harmonic Sea Route, the prices of oil and gas will increase, which will increase the burden of inflation on the general public. He said that it is necessary to stop the war, only then inflation will be controlled, the poor will get relief and the migration of laborers will stop. Finally he said that celebrating the failure of peace talks is wrong and those who are doing so should stop. India should come forward and take the initiative to establish peace, because stopping the war is in the interest of both the country and the world.
