Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a big gift to the people of Lakhimpur Kheri on Saturday. A day before the birthday of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Maharana Sanga, CM Yogi said that the government of professional criminals running mafia in every district used to torture and file false cases against the descendants of Maharana Pratap and Maharana Sanga.
Our government will withdraw all those cases against the people of the struggling Tharu community against whom the SP government had filed cases. Now no one will be able to oppress you, because the double engine government is standing with you and respecting your struggle.

CM Yogi again warned that those trying to become mafia should prepare to end up in the dust. The government will not allow any mafia to flourish, take away the rights of the poor and rob the youth of their jobs.

In a program organized at Chandan Chowki (Palia), he allotted land rights pattas to 2350 families of Eastern Uttar Pradesh affected by land erosion by rivers and 4356 families of Tharu tribe and inaugurated/laid the foundation stone of 314 development projects worth Rs 817 crore in Palia, Srinagar, Nighasan and Gola Gokarnath assembly constituencies.

He saw the cultural presentation of the artists of the Tharu tribe and also appreciated them for preserving their culture. The Chief Minister said that true governance is only where the people are happy. The welfare of the government lies in the welfare of the public.

The basis of happiness of governance is not the fulfillment of personal desires, but the happiness of the people. This work happens only when there is sensitivity in power and through service it reaches the masses.
This program is also a historical journey from rights to self-reliance, from self-reliance to self-respect, because today along with rights, self-respect and self-reliance are also guaranteed. If the public gave us rights, we are giving them the charter.

CM said that the dependents of freedom fighters from Eastern Uttar Pradesh were settled here. Three generations of yours passed away, but never got their rights. The incomplete journey of decades is progressing today with the rehabilitation programme. When a bridge of trust is built between the public and the government, that trust comes to the ground as a right.

Chandan Chowki is the pride of this district. Here the roots of forest dweller culture, self-respect and the fertility of the Terai flourish together. There are dozens of Tharu dominated villages in and around Chandan Chowki, which were in need of identification.
Sometimes he was harassed by the forest, police and revenue departments. The Tharu community, which has linked its history with bravery and valor, was earlier in need of recognition, but today it is getting the rights letter and this is the strength and speed of the double engine government.

Chief Minister Yogi said that the people who came from eastern Uttar Pradesh lost everything for the independence of the country. The British tortured them (black water, exile, hanging). After independence, the then government settled them but did not provide them land rights. People who contributed to the independence of the country were deprived of their rights in independent India.

In 1976, Tharu community was promised land in these villages, but they did not get the ownership of the land. Even the freedom fighters who came from eastern Uttar Pradesh in 1955 could not get ownership rights.

The CM strongly criticized the previous governments for not hearing these people for many decades. He said that there was a lack of sensitivity in the previous governments. If these people had risen above familyism, they would have thought about the Tharu and the dependents of the freedom fighters, but it is meaningless to expect rights from those who are dividing the society and looting the resources.

Today, title deeds for 5338 hectares of land have been handed over to 4356 Tharu families. In 1955, the people who came from Eastern Uttar Pradesh did not get rights in the then government, but today 2350 such families are getting the land rights of 4251 hectares of land. The work which never happened is being done by the double engine government.

He asked to send the demands of MLA Romi Sahni in writing to the government. The CM also told them to expand the bakery business in Chandan Chowki and surrounding areas, so that by connecting with the self-help groups run by the Tharu community, the products of your bakery can be sent to the Terai region as well as Uttarakhand. More than 300 women volunteer groups are working here.

CM Yogi said that farmers have suffered huge losses due to untimely hailstorm and excessive rain. We have asked for the survey report soon. Will provide money to the affected farmers from crop insurance scheme and disaster relief fund. In case of loss of life or loss of animals, instructions have been given to provide assistance within 24 hours.

The Mandi Committee has been asked to provide immediate compensation in case of crop loss due to fire and to provide housing through Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana in case the house is burnt or destroyed by storm. The government is standing with the farmers in the time of crisis.

The Chief Minister further said that the government will transform the Tharu community from beneficiaries to entrepreneurs. Tharu Handicraft Company established in Kheri is a symbol of the same thinking. CM Yogi said that the government will also build umbrellas and boundary walls over the statues of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, Maharishi Valmiki, Sant Ravidas.
