West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee called SIR a big scam, claimed to change the government in 2026

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday launched a major attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and made serious allegations against it like influencing voters and giving bribes before the elections. He has also termed the Special Intensive Review (SIR) process as the country’s “biggest scam”. Addressing a public meeting held at Khandaghosh in East Burdhwan district, Mamata Banerjee said that the BJP uses money and promises to woo voters during elections, but goes back on its promises after the elections are over. He alleged that this had already been seen in other states, especially Bihar. The Chief Minister claimed that if the BJP comes to power in West Bengal, the people of the state will be snatched away their rights and facilities. He cautioned the public that they need to be cautious of election promises and propaganda.

BJP can manipulate the voting- Mamta Banerjee

In her address, Mamata Banerjee also raised serious questions regarding the election process. He alleged that the BJP may try to manipulate the voting process. He appealed to the people to remain alert at the polling stations and keep an eye on the voting process. According to him, strategies like influencing the speed of voting and counting can be planned. The Chief Minister also targeted the Central Government over Special Intensive Review (SIR) and termed it as the biggest alleged scam in recent times. He said that this process raises questions on the democratic system and can affect transparency.

BJP government may fall in 2026- Mamata Banerjee

Apart from this, Mamata Banerjee also made a big political prediction regarding the current government at the Center and said that the BJP government at the Center may fall in the year 2026. He claimed that after this, changes will be seen in many policies and laws. During the meeting, he also accused the BJP of an alleged political deal worth Rs 1,000 crore, citing a viral video. According to Mamata Banerjee, the purpose of this alleged deal is to remove Trinamool Congress (TMC) from power in West Bengal and divide the minority votes. However, this viral video could not be independently verified.
