Sullia: An incident where unidentified individuals attempted a robbery while a man was getting into his car occurred late Friday night, April 10, at Puttila in Aivarnadu village. A case regarding this has been registered at the Bellare police station.
Arun Kumar, a resident of Gudalur in the Nilgiris district, was traveling from Sullia via Bellare towards Mardhala. Late at night, he stopped his car near Puttila to relieve himself. At that time, he heard a whistling sound. Later, as he was getting back into the car, a stone hit the front windshield, causing it to crack.
Despite this, as he attempted to drive away, two unidentified men on a motorcycle grabbed his collar and threw chili powder on his face in an attempt to rob him. He managed to escape, drove further, and explained the incident to people on the roadside. The 112 police helpline was also informed. By the time the police arrived at the spot, the suspects had fled. The investigation is ongoing.
