Veteran Singer Asha Bhosle Passes Away At 92, Last Rites To Be Held Tomorrow

Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 at a private hospital in Mumbai. Her last rites will be held tomorrow at 4:00 PM at Shivaji Park.
Bhosle's son Anand Bhosle said, "My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects to her at 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande, Lower Parel, where she lived. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm tomorrow at Shivaji Park."
The Padma Vibhushan awardee was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai on Saturday evening after chest infection. Her granddaughter Zanai had shared an update on social media, stating that the veteran singer had been hospitalised due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. She also requested privacy for the family, adding that treatment is ongoing and they remain hopeful for her recovery.

Asha Bhosle, the younger sister of the late Lata Mangeshkar, is one of India’s most celebrated singers, with a career spanning over eight decades. She has recorded more than 12,500 songs in multiple languages, lending her voice to generations of leading actresses—from Meena Kumari and Madhubala to Kajol and Urmila Matondkar.
Some of her most iconic songs include “Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar,” “In Ankhon Ki Masti,” “Dil Cheez Kya Hai,” “Piya Tu Ab To Aaja,” “Duniya Mein Logon Ko,” and “Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main.”
