Dempo SC secured a convincing 3-0 win against Aizawl FC, thanks to second-half goals from Marcus Joseph, Jose Luis Moreno, and substitute Sebastian Gutierrez. This match took place at the PJN Stadium in Goa on Saturday, marking Dempo's second consecutive victory in the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26.

Following this match, Dempo SC climbed to fifth place in the league standings, accumulating nine points from nine matches. Meanwhile, Aizawl FC fell to sixth place, sharing the same points total.

Dempo SC's head coach, Samir Naik, retained the same lineup from their previous match, while Aizawl FC's coach, R. Lalruatfela, made two substitutions, introducing Laldanmawia and Luis Rodriguez in place of Laldawngzuala and Tumur Talipov.

In the first half, Aizawl FC displayed a strong attacking presence, keeping Dempo's defense under pressure. Goalkeeper Ashish Siby was particularly active, making several crucial saves, including one against Laltlanzova's long-range attempt. K. Vanlalhriatzuala also had a chance but failed to convert from the edge of the box.

Dempo SC, on the other hand, struggled to create clear chances for their forwards, Marcus Joseph and Richmond Owusu. Their only notable attempt came from Saiesh Bagkar, whose long-range shot was on target.

Just before halftime, Dempo SC took the lead unexpectedly. Aizawl's H. Lalrempuia mishandled a pass, allowing Kapil Hoble to deliver a cross that found Saiesh. After controlling the ball, Saiesh shot towards the goal, but a deflection off Marcus Joseph sent it into the net.

Dempo SC continued their strong performance into the second half, creating two scoring opportunities within the first five minutes. Aubin Kouakou missed a header from a corner, and Marcus Joseph failed to capitalize on a clear chance inside the box.

In the 53rd minute, Dempo doubled their lead from a corner kick. Kapil Hoble's delivery was met by Saiesh Bagkar, whose shot was saved acrobatically by Aizawl's goalkeeper, Lalhruaitluanga. The rebound fell to Jose Luis Moreno, who easily slotted it home.
