Salman Khan is preparing for his upcoming film Maatrubhumi, earlier known as Battle of Galwan. However, reports suggest the project might skip a theatrical release and head straight to an OTT platform.

Director Apoorva Lakhia recently interacted with fans about the film, during which a concerned Salman Khan fan urged him to opt for a theatrical release, stating that “everyone has lost hope in the superstar.”

The fan wrote, “Mr. Apoorva, we are Salman Khan's fans, not just in India, but all over the world. I have a request: if the film Matrubhumi has the potential for theatrical release, please release it. If not, I hope you will release it on OTT ، People have lost hope in him; I hope you will do something.”

To this, Apoorva Lakhia responded by writing, “SK sir will always be the biggest super star and the film will eventually release on OTT.”

While users are still trying to decode Lakhia’s statement, a majority of them think that Maatrubhumi is apt for an OTT release because it has failed to generate any buzz with its promotional material till now.

Helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi is based on the India-China Galwan Valley clash which was fought without any weapons.

Salman Khan and Chitrangada Singh will be seen in lead roles in this movie.
