Rory McIlroy is on the cusp of more glory at the Masters as he looks to retain the title he won at Augusta a year ago. The Northern Irishman carded a 65 for seven-under on Friday after a five-under 67 opening round.
The 36-year-old has a six-shot lead after ending his second round with four straight birdies, one of which was a chip-in on the 17th. McIlroy now has a healthy lead over Patrick Reed and Sam Burns in second.

Justin Rose, Shane Lowry and Tommy Fleetwood are all a stroke back of the American duo to tie for fourth. Elsewhere, Bryson DeChambeau's latest bid for his first Green Jacket ended in failure as he missed the Masters cut on Friday night.
The American was one of the pre-tournament favourites at Augusta National but suffered a weekend to forget in Georgia.
