New Delhi: Temperatures in the national capital are expected to rise from today. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 34 degrees C and 36 degrees C, while the minimum may stay between 18 degrees C and 20 degrees C.

Northwesterly winds will dominate through the day. Wind speeds are likely to remain between 15–20 kmph in the morning (0530–1130 hrs), easing slightly to 10–15 kmph during the afternoon and evening.
The sky will remain mainly clear. Surface winds may reach 10–20 kmph, with occasional gusts touching up to 30 kmph during the daytime.
Temperatures to rise to 40 degrees C this week
Over the next seven days (till April 17), maximum temperatures across northwest India are expected to rise gradually by 6–8°C. Strong surface winds, with speeds of 25–35 kmph, are likely to affect Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh over the next three days.
