Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Thushara was very excited to be a part of the RCB team in IPL 2026. When the board did not give NOC to Thushara at the right time, he became very angry. Due to which he took legal action against the Sri Lanka Cricket Board itself. Now Thushara has decided to take a U-turn in this matter. Seeing that the rebellion was becoming very heavy, he has now also apologized.

Nuwan Thushara’s rebellion against the board cost him dearly.

When the Sri Lankan Cricket Board refused to give the No Objection Certificate, Nuwan felt that something was wrong with him. Due to which he decided to file a court case against the Sri Lankan Cricket Board. Sri Lankan Cricket told the district court that it will object to the case filed regarding permission to play in IPL 2026. The board made it clear in the court that Thushara had failed in the fitness test. Due to which he was not given NOC. Thushara is now preparing to withdraw this case. He believed that this happened due to misunderstanding. Apart from Nuwan, Mathisha Pathirana has also not received NOC due to not passing the fitness test.

Thushara has now apologized to the board

Now the next hearing of Nuwan Thushara’s case is going to be held in the court on 23rd April. However, they will withdraw the case before that. Apart from this, he has also apologized to the board. By writing an email he made it clear that he just wanted to know the real reason for not getting the NOC. Now he wants to end this matter. Nuwan has played 30 T20 matches for Sri Lanka so far. He has also played in IPL 2024 and 2025. Due to his good performance, he was retained by the RCB team.
