Liverpool heroes past and present have teamed up to fight poverty - and they're already raking in thousands of pounds for kids in need. Anfield legend turned TV pundit Jamie Carragher and Reds midfield ace Dominik Szoboszlai joined forces at a glitzy Football For Change bash, rubbing shoulders with big names from football, business and showbiz. It was all for a powerful cause. The star-studded event was aimed at giving struggling youngsters a shot at a better life, pumping cash into education, training and sport schemes that can change futures for good.

Carragher helped launch the initiative back in 2021 alongside fellow England stars, and it's already made a huge impact - backing hundreds of grassroots groups and helping kids dream bigger.

Now Hungarian hotshot Szoboszlai is stepping up too - and it comes as he's smashing it on the pitch in a sensational debut season for Liverpool.

But it's what he's doing off the pitch that's also turning heads.

Carragher couldn't hold back his praise, saying Szoboszlai is not just bossing games - he's showing real leadership where it matters most.

He said: "Dominik's been unbelievable this season and you can see he's a leader out there - but what he's doing away from football is just as important.

"For him to come here, get involved and support young people having tough starts in life is incredible. That's leadership - on and off the field.

"He's got a massive future at Liverpool Football Club and this shows exactly the kind of person he is."

The former Kop defender and Sky Sports pundit also hinted that the midfielder could be a future Liverpool captain, saying he "has what it takes."

Szoboszlai said supporting the cause was an easy decision, given the impact Football For Change is making in communities.

"It's great to be part of something that is helping young people who need it most," he said. "I love Liverpool and my life here, so providing support like this - supporting young people who need assistance - is important."

Funds raised from the event will go directly towards projects that provide life-changing opportunities for young people, continuing Football For Change's mission to use the power of football to drive social change.

Meanwhile, BRIT-Award winner James Bay performed at the glittering event.
