Abhishek Banerjee Statement: After Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday released the Sankalp Patra (election manifesto) for the West Bengal Assembly elections, Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee compared the manifesto to the promises of high returns made by chit funds or Ponzi schemes. While talking to the media, Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘BJP’s promises are like chit funds. Their promises have no value.

The promise of giving allowance of Rs 3,000 every month to unemployed youth and women is also another phrase in the BJP manifesto. The BJP has earlier tried to take control of West Bengal through various central agencies. When they failed in that, now they are trying to lure women and youth with false promises of financial assistance. BJP does not believe in the federal democratic system.”

Central government cornered regarding SIR

On this occasion, Abhishek Banerjee once again attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Central Government regarding the special intensive review in West Bengal. He said that before releasing the manifesto, the Union Home Minister should apologize to the people of West Bengal for the harassment they had to face during this process. He further said that due to such behavior BJP will remain in opposition for the next 20 years.

BJP has forgotten old promises- Abhishek Banerjee

Abhishek Banerjee also said that BJP has forgotten many promises made before the elections. Abhishek Banerjee said that he had promised to bring back black money, but nothing happened. The country’s economy was affected by the unplanned implementation of GST. Now they are busy snatching away the basic rights of the people.

Why was Ayushman Bharat scheme not implemented in Bengal – Abhishek

Abhishek Banerjee further said that why did the West Bengal government not implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state? We opposed Ayushman Bharat because if we had implemented it, almost 90 per cent of people would not have been able to get the insurance benefits because it had many conditions, so we implemented our own ‘Swasthya Sathi’ scheme, which has no conditions. Any person can take advantage of this scheme of the state.
