Delhi. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have included South African all-rounder George Linde in the squad in place of Wanindu Hasaranga as the Sri Lankan cricketer has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) due to injury.
Hasaranga was bought by the Lucknow team for Rs 2 crore. He was ruled out of Sri Lanka’s first match during the T20 World Cup earlier this year with a hamstring injury.
Linde is a left-handed batting all-rounder, who has a lot of experience playing in the shortest format of cricket. He has played three Tests, four ODIs and 37 T20 International matches for South Africa. He has scored 403 runs and taken 35 wickets in the T20 International format.
Thirty-three-year-old Linde has played more than 250 T20 matches in league and domestic competitions. This will be Linde’s first IPL. He will join the franchise for his ‘base price’ of Rs 1 crore.
