Afghanistan Rain and Floods : Heavy rains in Afghanistan have caused widespread flooding and rain- accidents, killing at least 157 people, injuring 229 and leaving nine others missing. The country has suffered a lot due to sudden seasonal floods.

According to reports, heavy rains and resulting floods in the country from March 26 to April 6 affected people in many provinces. Hundreds of villages were submerged due to the havoc of nature. More than 73,000 people have been affected by this disaster.
The country’s National Disaster Management Authority said in a statement on Thursday that torrential rains have caused floods, landslides and house collapses, as well as severe thunderstorms and lightning strikes, causing massive loss of life and property. The authority further reported that the floods, which hit remote mountainous provinces particularly badly, completely destroyed 1,229 houses and partially damaged 5,636 other houses.
