Today in New Delhi, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan unveiled the latest edition of the Indian Constitution in the Sindhi language. During his address, Radhakrishnan emphasized that Sindhi is one of the oldest and sweetest languages. He noted that this is the first time a version of the Constitution in Sindhi has been released in the Devanagari script since India's independence. The Vice President highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made significant efforts to make this sacred document available in various languages.
Importance of Language Accessibility
Radhakrishnan stated that this initiative is a crucial step towards ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their language, can fully comprehend and connect with the nation's ideals. He mentioned that when citizens can read and understand the Constitution in their own language, it bridges the gap between governance and the public. On this occasion, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal remarked that this event not only celebrates linguistic heritage but also demonstrates the country's commitment to unity and cultural diversity.
Empowering Citizens Through Language
He further added that when the Constitution is accessible in all languages, ordinary citizens will be able to read it and understand their rights. Meghwal also mentioned that Parliament is scheduled to convene on the 16th, 17th, and 18th of this month, expressing hope that significant steps towards women's empowerment will be taken during this session.
