LIK Movie Review: Pradeep Ranganathan's 'Futuristic Rom-Com' Leaves Audience Divided

Last year, with the release of Dude on Diwali 2025, actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan created a unique record of delivering three Rs 100 crore hits in a row with is first three movies as a lead star.

Now, the actor is looking to make it four in a row with director Vignesh Shivan’s Love Insurance Kompany aka LIK.

Besides Pradeep Ranganathan, the movie also stars Krithi Shetty and SJ Suryah.

Sharing their review of the futuristic rom com, one social media user wrote, “#LIK - Gots enough to LIKe Concept stands tall! Filled with usual scenes that don't work but also usual scenes made very well landing for the emotion & heartwarming moments with ample fun... Better 2nd half saves! PR & SJS shine & their combo Ani OverDuty DECENT WATCH”.

A second user commented, “#LIK - LIKE. 2040 Backdrop, PR-SJS Face off Scenes, Kriti Intro, Open Friend Yogibabu comedy, Anandraj’s 1 liners, Social Media elements, Colorful Visuals, Anirudh’s BGM & Songs-Gud. Though Unrealistic & Lengthy, Wikki’s Fun treatment in Narration makes this a ENTERTAINING Watch!”

A third user reviewed, “#LIK A futuristic rom-com with an interesting concept and setup, but the execution is underwhelming.

The film’s main USP is its futuristic world-building. It feels outlandish at times but generates some fun in the first half. The concept is interesting and has potential, but the execution doesn’t come together.

The paper-thin plot gets exposed in the second half, and the film goes nowhere and feels dragged out. A few PR and SJ Suryah mark fun moments do land, but far too little for this to work. The production values are top notch.

Fun works in bits and pieces, but as a whole it’s below par. Rating: 2.25/5 #LoveInsuranceKompany”.
