Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday released the Bharatiya Janata Party’s “manifesto” for the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026 in Kolkata. Prepared on the theme of ‘Developed West Bengal’ and ‘Modi’s Guarantee’, this manifesto presents a detailed roadmap to free the state from the alleged misgovernance of Trinamool Congress, political violence, syndicate rule and illegal infiltration.
Releasing this, Amit Shah said that the people of Bengal have been living in an atmosphere of despair and fear under the rule of Mamata Banerjee government for the last 15 years. He said, “Our government will adopt a policy of zero tolerance towards infiltration. There is a fear in the minds of the people of Bengal that if infiltration continues like this, whether Bengal will survive or not. You form the BJP government with full majority, we will selectively expel each and every infiltrator.”

Releasing the BJP’s manifesto for West Bengal, Amit Shah described it as “freedom from fear and the direction of development”. He said that this document is a resolution to get out of despair, ensure safety of women and give new direction to unemployed youth. He accused TMC of promoting syndicate, political violence and appeasement politics. He said that this resolution letter of BJP is a document to get out of despair, freedom from fear and safety of women. It will show a new path to the unemployed youth and pledges to make the state ‘Sonar Bangla’. Amit Shah promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state within six months. He said that within 100 days of coming to power, a roadmap to make Bengal a leading state will be released.
Main points of the manifesto
- Financial assistance of Rs 3,000 transferred every month to the bank accounts of women.
- Unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month to unemployed youth.
- Financial assistance of Rs 9,000 every year to farmers.
- Implementation of 7th Pay Commission** within 45 days of coming to power, recruitment on government vacant posts and relaxation in age limit.
- To ensure equal law for all citizens by implementing Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within six months.
- Launching a campaign of reconstruction by strictly adopting a zero tolerance policy on infiltration.
- Issuance of white paper on law and order and strict action against political violence, coal-sand-stone mafia.
- Rejuvenating tea gardens, promoting jute industry and effectively implementing the schemes of the Centre.
- Support to new industries and startups, develop industrial park and 4 new industrial townships in Singur.
- Development of Haldia Port, establishment of Sports University and construction of Cancer Hospital.
- Formation of Matangani Hazra and Rani Rashmoni battalions, women police stations in every division and 33 percent reservation for women in police.
- Construction of Vande Mataram Museum and the aim of making Kolkata an industrial capital.
- Formation of Durga battalion, procurement of paddy by the government and improvement in the quality of mid-day meals.
