BJP Assam spokesperson Pranjal Kalita criticized the Congress leadership.

He said that while the Congress claims to uphold the Constitution, its actions are contrary to the constitutional principles.

Kalita described Kharge’s statements as “irresponsible” and “highly objectionable”.

BJP leaders claimed that these comments were an insult to Hindu beliefs and traditions.

The party described the speech as a “threat to social harmony”.

It also accused the Congress of trying to create divisions and weaken the Sanatan culture.

Demand for legal action

BJP has demanded strict legal action against Kharge.

The issue has come up just days before voting for the 126-member Assam Assembly, scheduled for April 9.

New controversy regarding Chief Minister’s family

In a separate controversy, the Congress alleged that the wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held multiple foreign passports.

Responding to this claim, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pavitra Margherita dismissed those documents as “fake and fabricated”.

He said the government has confirmed the facts through diplomatic channels and investigation.
