Belthangady: Excel Pre-University College, Guruvayanakere, has recorded an outstanding performance in the second PUC examination results, with 50 students securing places among the state’s top 10 ranks.

The college has also maintained its 100 per cent pass record for the fifth consecutive year.

The first, second and third ranks in Belthangady taluk were secured by students of Excel College

In the commerce stream, Yana Ponnamma N P (597) and Shrivatsa U (597) emerged as top scorers, while Akshay A (595) from the science stream secured one of the highest scores.

A total of 1,334 students passed with distinction.

Students who secured places in the state top 10 include Sushmita (594), Anisha (594), Rohith Mahantesh (594), Shilpita H S (594), Monica H (593), Anvesha G Bhat (592), Kashmi V U (592), Nishchita C (592), Paresh P Govankar (592), Pragathi M R (592), Riha Parvin (592), Abhishta (592), Ashitha (592), Kripashree (592), Yukti (592), Akhil Anil (591), Bhoomika (591), Manvit Krishna S V (591), Mishba (591), Abhinav (590), Adaviya U (590), Ashreefa Fathima (590), Akshara (590), Dhanyashree (590), Darshan Rao (590), Kaushal L Kulal (590), Nithya Shivaprasad Dinde (590), P Poorvi Shanbhag (590), Saudha Ambar (590), Tajna T S (590) and Vivek S Bhat (590).

The institution has also performed strongly in competitive examinations.

Recently, in the JEE Main examination, Excel College secured the top position in Dakshina Kannada district.

The college has so far sent 17 students to IITs, making it one of the preferred educational institutions for students from rural areas.

In the medical field, the institution has the distinction of sending six students to AIIMS and JIPMER.

Last year, the college helped 248 students secure medical seats, which the management described as a unique achievement for a PU college in Karnataka.

The college also stated that it had helped students realise their dream of clearing the NDA examination last year.
