Amid the legal battle and a ban from CBFC, the high-definition print of Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan has reportedly been leaked online, even as the project awaits its censor certification following a legal battle earlier this year.

Before the full leak, several clips, including the title credits, introduction scene, and climax, had already surfaced on social media. Fans of Vijay reacted with shock and disappointment, urging the makers to take strict action against those responsible.

In a scene that is now going viral and seems like the climax of Jana Nayagan, Atlee, Lokesh Kangaraj, and Nelson were spotted in cameos. Interestingly, these three directors have given superhits to Vijay like Theri, Mersal, Master, Leo, Varisu and more.

While the production team initially moved swiftly to remove the circulating clips from platforms like X and others, the situation escalated soon after, with the film’s HD version appearing on multiple piracy websites.

H Vinoth, the director of Jana Nayagan, has appealed to audiences to refrain from sharing any leaked footage of the film, urging fans to respect the hard work of the team

These footages have been leaked only two weeks before Tamil Nadu elections and atthe time of writing, the makers of Jana Nayagan, backed by KVN Productions, have not issued an official statement on the leak. However, fans of Thalapathy Vijay have reacted strongly online, with several warning of strict legal consequences for those sharing the footage.

A fan page on X, Actor Vijay Team, stated, “Strict legal action will be taken against anyone sharing #JanaNayagan content. Violations will be pursued seriously and can lead to arrest.” They further added, “A cyber crime complaint has been filed against all accounts sharing leaked #Jananayagan clips. Authorities are actively tracing every ID involved, and strict legal action will follow.”

Jana Nayagan was positioned as Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell to cinema before he transitions fully into politics. Originally slated for a January 9 release, the film was postponed just days ahead after the Central Board of Film Certification raised objections over certain scenes that could potentially hurt sentiments.

Following this, the makers approached the Madras High Court seeking an expedited certification process. However, after nearly a month-long legal tussle with the CBFC, the team decided to withdraw the case and instead submit the film to the revising committee.

Currently, the film remains with the revising committee, and it is still unclear whether it has been screened for its members. Reports suggest that a scheduled screening was even cancelled after one of the members fell ill.

There is also speculation that the film may only be cleared after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, especially since Vijay is set to contest through his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, adding another layer to the ongoing delay.
