New Delhi: In a major boost for K-pop fans in India, PVR INOX Limited has announced exclusive theatrical screenings of the BTS World Tour ‘Arirang’. The cinematic event will bring performances of the global sensation BTS to big screens across the country.
The screenings will include live viewings and select re-broadcasts from Goyang on April 11 and Tokyo on April 18, 2026.
Expanding K-pop cinema experience
The ‘Arirang’ screenings follow the success of previous BTS concert films such as Yet to Come in Cinemas and Burn the Stage, which witnessed overwhelming demand across India.
By securing the screening rights, PVR INOX continues to position itself as a hub for experiential cinema, especially among younger audiences who seek immersive entertainment beyond traditional films.
Screenings across 20+ cities
The event will be hosted in more than 20 cities, including major metros and emerging markets such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Guwahati.
This wide release reflects the growing popularity of K-pop culture in India and the strong presence of the BTS fanbase, popularly known as the ARMY.
Rising demand for concert films
According to PVR INOX officials, previous BTS screenings often sold out quickly, prompting the addition of extra shows and screens. There has also been a noticeable increase in group bookings and fan-led participation.
The trend highlights a shift in audience behaviour, with Gen Z and millennials increasingly drawn to shared, community-driven viewing experiences.
PVR INOX on the collaboration
Speaking about the initiative, Aamer Bijli of PVR INOX stated that BTS represents more than just music, describing the group as a global cultural phenomenon.
He emphasised that bringing the ‘Arirang’ tour to theatres allows fans to experience high-quality sound and visuals in a communal setting, enhancing the overall concert experience.
Dates and viewing schedule
The screenings are scheduled as follows:
- April 11, 2026: Live screening from Goyang
- April 18, 2026: Live screening from Tokyo
Audiences across participating cities will be able to experience the performances simultaneously, adding to the excitement of the event.
Conclusion
The exclusive screening of BTS World Tour ‘Arirang’ marks another milestone in India’s evolving entertainment landscape. By blending global music culture with cinematic technology, PVR INOX is catering to a growing demand for immersive and community-driven experiences among Indian audiences.
