Star Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) due to a hamstring injury, which he suffered during the T20 World Cup in February.
This injury ruled him out of the remainder of the tournament. The player was signed for ₹2 crore, and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are currently aggressively looking for a replacement. An announcement is anticipated in the next 24 to 48 hours. LSG's Global Director of Cricket made this announcement during the KKR vs LSG match and said that a replacement will be announced soon.
"We are sort of preparing for him not going to be available for us. So, we are in process of finalising a replacement that will be announced in next 24-48 hours," said Tom Moody while talking to the broadcaster.
