Out or not out? Digvesh Rathi enters in new controversy after Finn Allen departs in KKR vs LSG encounter in Kolkata

This is not a controversy Digvesh Rathi is used to. But the dismissal of Finn Allen made him enter into one. In the match between the Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Finn Allen's wicket off Prince Yadav has stirred up controversies after fans pointed out a clear foot in the boundary cushion from Rathi while completing the catch.

This happened in the fourth ball of the second over, when Allen tried to slog in a hard-length ball over the leg side. Rathi had to run through. Rathi, who was at the deep third, ran forward and completed the catch in the air itself.

However, while carrying the ball, he realized that he probably had touched the boundary cushion, but he eventually joined the team for the celebration. Finn Allen walked out, but later, in the replay, it was found that his left foot had touched the cushion slightly, causing a slight squeeze to it. A review could have had a different result for Allen.

Kolkata Knight Riders paddles to 56 after the powerplay.

Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and decided to field first. Finn Allen, who was struggling to get a big run in the last three matches he played, suffered an unfortunate dismissal today. However, KKR recovered from the mess. They pulled up 56 after six overs, with Angrish Raghuvangshi and Ajinkya Rahane guarding the wickets.

After 10 overs, KKR reached 98 runs, with both Rahane and Raghuvangshi reaching their half centuries. Meanwhile, KKR has brought back Sunil Narine in the squad. Varun Chakravarthy is still outside with Anukul Roy still in his place. On the other hand, with Cameron Green spotted to bowl in the nets, the fans can expect him to bowl an over or two against the LSG.
