Recently, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson made a fan's day by gifting him a brand-new smartphone during a quick stop in Kerala. This heartwarming moment took place near Punchappadam School on the Mundur–Thootha road in Palakkad and has been making waves for its genuine kindness.
Reports say that Samson was on his way from Kozhikode to Coimbatore when he pulled over around 5:15 pm to take a phone call. At that moment, Shabareesh, a cable technician from Katampazhippuram, and his friend Manikandan were heading to a nearby cricket ground in Mangalankunnu. As they walked by, they spotted a familiar face inside a parked car, it was none other than Samson.
While he was on a video call, Samson noticed them and kindly waved for them to wait. Once he wrapped up his call, he stepped out and greeted them warmly, even offering to snap a photo together. Shabareesh took a selfie with his phone, which unfortunately had a cracked screen. Noticing this, Samson quietly opened the back of his car and handed him a new smartphone, valued at around ₹30,000.

The surprise left Shabareesh and his friends in awe and deeply touched. After a short chat, Samson continued on his way, leaving behind a memorable experience for the fans.
Interestingly, this sweet gesture comes at a tough time for Samson in his cricketing career. Despite delivering some key performances during the T20 World Cup, he has faced challenges in the current IPL season since joining the Chennai Super Kings. With scores of 6, 7, and 9 in his first three matches, his performance has reflected the team's slow start, as they remain winless so far.
The five-time champions are set to face off against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their fourth game on Saturday, April 11, at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, hoping to finally get on the scoreboard in this 19th edition of the tournament.
