New Delhi: The situation in Lebanon has once again become very tense. Israel on Wednesday targeted Hezbollah positions with a massive air strike and claimed that the organization’s chief Naeem Qasim had been killed in the attack.

Huge destruction has been seen in this attack. According to Lebanon’s Civil Defense Agency, 254 people have died in the attacks, while more than 1,165 people have been injured. After this incident, national mourning has been declared in the country.

Simultaneous attacks in many areas

The Israeli army launched simultaneous attacks in Beirut, Bekaa Valley, Mount Lebanon, Sidon and several villages in South Lebanon. This attack took place at a time when a two-week ceasefire was announced between America, Israel and Iran.

According to the Israeli Army, this was the biggest attack so far since the military campaign started on March 2. The army claimed that more than 100 command centers and military bases of Hezbollah were targeted in this.

Different statements on ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarified that Lebanon is not part of this ceasefire. At the same time, mediator Pakistan says that Lebanon is also included in this agreement.

US President Trump also said that Lebanon is not part of this agreement and has been kept aside.

Iran’s tough stance

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned America on this issue, saying that it will have to decide whether it will implement ceasefire or continue the war through Israel, because both cannot go together.

Iran’s new plan on the Strait of Hormuz

Meanwhile, according to reports, Iran is planning to impose a toll of $1 per barrel on oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz. It is being told that this payment can be taken in cryptocurrency.

Iran will strictly monitor the ships passing through this route and they will have to first give information about their cargo. Only after this will permission be given to proceed further.

Iranian official Hamid Hosseini said that this step is being taken so that the supply of weapons to American military bases can be stopped. He also said that the ships would be allowed to leave, but the process may take time.
