Within the two-week cease-fire between America and Iran, Israel launched one attack after another in Lebanon on Wednesday. It is reported that the death toll has exceeded 250. Benjamin Netanyahu’s army claimed Thursday to have killed Ali Yusuf Harshi, a top aide to Hezbollah chief Naim Kassem, in the latest attack. It should be noted that this Yusuf is the advisor of most of the decisions of the Hezbollah leader.
In a statement, the Israeli army, the IDF, said, “Ali Yusuf Harshi, one of Hezbollah chief Naim Kassem’s aides and nephew, was killed in an attack in Beirut yesterday.” It also said, “As a close aide of Kasem, the deceased Yusuf was responsible for managing and protecting his office.” Earlier, Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah said it had fired rockets into Israel in response to a US-Iranian ceasefire ‘violation’. Rebel groups also claim they have the ‘right’ to respond to Israeli strikes across Lebanon. According to the sources, Hezbollah has already launched a counter attack on the Israeli area near the border of Lebanon. All in all, the clear direction of the war has now turned towards Lebanon.
Lebanon said on Thursday that 254 people were killed in a one-day attack by Israel. The number of injured is 1,165. Lebanon has declared a day of national mourning to honor the dead. Meanwhile, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire between America and Iran. Netanyahu’s words are echoed by US Vice President JD Vanser. According to him, we did not make this promise that Lebanon will not be attacked.
Although Iran is covering the attack in Lebanon. Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy in Iran’s parliament, said on social media, “In response to the barbaric aggression against Lebanon, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz must be stopped immediately.” The people of Lebanon sacrificed their lives for us. So we cannot leave them alone even for a moment. If there is a ceasefire, it must be on all fronts. Otherwise it will not be effective in any battlefield.’
It should be noted that the Strait of Hormuz has been blocked for months due to the Iran war. The whole world is suffering from energy crisis. However, Tehran has given a separate ‘concession letter’ to ‘friend’ India. A total of 8 Indian-flagged ships have crossed the Hormuz so far. As a result, the situation has become somewhat easier for New Delhi. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Hormuz is not completely closed. Ships from countries that have friendly relations with Iran are allowed to sail. Along with China, Russia, Pakistan, India is also included in the list of friendly countries. But after the ceasefire that situation started to change. Which stopped again due to Israel’s attack on Lebanon.
