This facility is especially beneficial for children, students and those who do not have a bank account but need digital payments.

How does UPI Circle work?

There are two types of users in this system, Primary User and Secondary User.

  • Primary User is the one from whose bank account payment is made.
  • Whereas Secondary User is the one who makes payment using the same account.

The primary user can add his family, friends or employees and they all become secondary users.

Make payment without account like this

With the help of UPI Circle, Secondary User can make payment even without his bank account. He makes transactions directly from the primary user’s account through the Google Pay app. This feature especially makes pocket money management easier.

Complete control over transactions is in your hands

The Primary User has complete control over how much and how the Secondary User can spend.

  • Set monthly limit: You can set a limit of up to ₹15,000 per month.
  • Approval on every payment: If you want, you can also approve every transaction manually.

How to setup?

To start this feature, you have to go to Google Pay app and select UPI Circle option. After this, the number of the person to be added should be saved in your phone and he must have Google Pay app and UPI ID. You can add up to 5 secondary users and set limits and permissions for them.

KYC rules will have to be taken care of

While adding a secondary user, it is necessary to verify his identity. For this you have to provide his government ID number and relationship information. This process is called “Master Direction Know Your Customer (KYC) Direction, 2016” It is mandatory under this, so that all transactions can be secured and tracked.
