David Miller Left Dejected in Delhi Capitals Dressing Room After 1-Run Loss to GT
Cricket Gully | April 9, 2026 4:39 PM CST

The Delhi Capitals' (DC) social media team recently posted a video featuring a visibly disappointed David Miller following their narrow one-run loss to the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, April 8.

Miller was unable to score the two runs needed off the last two balls, which would have given the 2022 champions their first victory of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Despite a fantastic innings of 41 runs off just 20 balls, the South African batter couldn't quite get his new team across the finish line, marking their first defeat of the season. The 36-year-old was understandably upset with the outcome, and the footage captured him looking utterly dejected in the changing room.

Miller’s Costly Decision Denies DC Win

In the second innings, chasing a target of 211, DC found themselves needing 13 runs from the final over after a brilliant start, thanks to KL Rahul’s impressive 52-ball 92. After his dismissal, Miller stepped up to try and secure the win for his team.

Vipraj Nigam hit a boundary off the very first ball from Prasidh Krishna but was out on the next delivery, bringing Kuldeep Yadav to the crease. The left-hander managed to take a single, putting Miller back on strike with eight runs required from the last three balls.

Miller launched a six over long off, bringing the target down to just two runs needed off the final two balls, making DC the favorites to clinch the win.

However, he didn’t take a single off the next ball, which would have tied the game and forced a Super Over. Instead, with two runs needed off the last ball, Miller misplayed his shot, and it went straight to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, who ran out Kuldeep, handing GT their first two points of the season. Interestingly, Miller had previously spent three seasons with GT, being part of their title-winning squad in 2022.
