Weather changed in Bihar: alert of storm and rain in 19 districts

Patna. Last Wednesday, the weather of Bihar suddenly took a turn. Heavy rains and strong winds dropped the temperature in the state to 13 degrees Celsius, which brought some relief to the people of Bihar troubled by the heat. In Patna, cold winds and intermittent drizzle since morning brought the mercury to 29 degrees Celsius.

In which districts is there alert?

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of thunderstorm and rain in 19 districts of North and East Bihar on Thursday. Major districts include Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Banka and Jamui. There is a possibility of lightning and thunder along with strong winds in these districts.

Effect of strong winds and storm

In these areas, winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour, which can affect life. Especially in Jamui on Wednesday afternoon, dark clouds spread such darkness that it created a night-like atmosphere on the roads. Heavy dust storm and rain brought life to a standstill.

Record drop in temperature recorded

Let us tell you that a huge drop in temperature was recorded in the last 24 hours. The mercury dropped to 13.2 degrees in Valmikinagar (West Champaran). In districts like East Champaran, Buxar and Siwan, the temperature dropped by 8 to 10 degrees. This sudden weather change proved helpful in curbing the heat, but increased farmers’ concerns about their crops and water management in their fields.
