‘Igniting a Billion Lamps’ Book Launch: ‘Igniting a Billion Lamps’ book launched at India Habitat Centre, focuses on character building and value based education

New Delhi. Renowned educationist Ashok K. Pandey’s book ‘Igniting a Billion Lamps’ was launched on 7 April 2026 at India Habitat Centre. Taking inspiration from the life and leadership journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this book focuses on the basic objective of education – character building and creation of value based citizens. In this, the role of teachers, schools and leadership has been specially underlined. Many eminent personalities from the world of education, public life and leadership were present in the book launch program.

Chief guest Prof. In his address, Baldev Bhai Sharma described the book as a ‘blueprint for character building’ and said that it is extremely relevant in today’s time towards preparing responsible and moral citizens. The preface of the book is written by Admiral K. S. Noor (Retd) highlighted the breadth and depth of the book and described it as extremely useful in the context of leadership and institutional change. Other speakers were Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra ji, Prof. Pushpanadham, Dr. Rohini Ahluwalia and Dr. Amita Mulla Wattal also expressed their views on the importance of the book in the context of education, school leadership and overall development.

Dr. Vivek Gautam, Rabai Malekar, General P.K. were present in the program. Many distinguished guests including Saigal, Colonel Kishore Upadhyay, Sandeep Sehgal, Rakesh Pandey, Ajay Pandey, Naveen Arya, Rachna Pant and Lieutenant Sanjeev Kaur were present. Writer and historian Amritanshu Pandey conducted the program effectively. The program concluded in an inspiring atmosphere. This book is not just a publication, but a call to ignite the potential of every student by considering education as a medium of change.
