Voting begins in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry, huge crowd seen at voting centers since morning

Tezzbuzz Desk- A great festival of democracy is being witnessed today in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry, where voting has started at 7 am for a total of 296 assembly seats. Voting is being conducted in a single phase in all three areas and voters are reaching the polling stations in large numbers to exercise their franchise. Voting will continue till 6 pm. The Election Commission of India has made extensive security and administrative preparations to conduct the elections in a fair and peaceful manner. Security forces have been deployed at all polling stations and adherence to Covid protocols and other necessary guidelines is being ensured.

722 candidates are in the fray for 126 assembly seats in Assam. A total of 31,940 polling stations have been set up here, where voters are casting their votes to elect their representatives.

Voting is being held on all 140 seats of Kerala in a single phase. 883 candidates are trying their luck in this state and long queues are being seen at the polling stations since morning.

The election atmosphere is also heated in Puducherry, where around 9.5 lakh voters are deciding the fate of 294 candidates through electronic voting machines (EVMs).

The voting process is going on peacefully in all the three areas and the administration is continuously monitoring the situation. Everyone will be eagerly waiting for the election results, which will decide the political direction of these states and union territories.
