Oman will not collect any duties on the passage of fuel vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. This is what the Oman administration said on Wednesday opposing Iran’s decision. As a result of which these two countries of the Middle East are involved in a direct conflict centered on Hormuz. It is known that this step of Oman is to corner Iran in the middle of the war.

After a terrible war for 40 days, America and Iran have walked the path of ceasefire for the next 15 days. Although the decision to keep Hormuz open is conditional, new problems have arisen here. The two countries on either side of this strait are Iran and Oman. It was said that these two countries will collect customs duties from Hormuz as long as the negotiations are going on. However, the Minister of Transport of Oman said, “No duty has ever been imposed for shipping through Hormuz in the past, nor will it be imposed.” We have agreements with several countries on the use of these waterways. As a result, I cannot impose any duty here. Oman will ensure free and safe navigation in this waterway.

Oman’s Minister of Transport said, ‘No duty has ever been imposed for shipping through Hormuz in the past, nor will it be imposed yet.’

It should be noted that despite walking on the path of cease-fire, Iran’s losses in the war are huge. It was proposed by Iran that the money collected from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz be used for post-war reconstruction, as the conflict has destroyed the country’s defense, administrative and civilian infrastructure. However, Oman poured water on the path of Iran’s desire.

However, it is believed that America is behind this decision of Oman. Maybe they made this decision to please America, or directly on the orders of America. 25 percent of the world’s fuel trade is through the Strait of Hormuz. So far there is no customs duty for shipping here. There suddenly this tariff is definitely uncomfortable for the whole world. Oman does not want to shoulder this responsibility. According to the diplomatic circles, Oman made it clear that they are strongly opposed to this tariff, leaving Iran alone on the advice of America.
