Only Calling And SMS Recharge Plan: Relief news has emerged for mobile users. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a new proposal for telecom companies, under which now cheap calls and SMS These plans can be made mandatory. This step will especially benefit those people who use the phone only for calling and messaging.
What is the new proposal?
According to TRAI’s proposal, now all telecom companies will have to provide plans without data. These plans will be cheaper than the existing data packs. That means, if you do not need internet, now you will not have to pay extra money for it.
Why was this new rule brought?
According to the telecom regulator, companies have been launching call and SMS plans in the past too, but their prices were kept higher than expected. Despite removing the data, the prices were not reduced in the right proportion. TRAI clearly said, ‘The result of the changes made earlier has not been satisfactory’, that is why now the revised proposal has been brought so that the customers can get the right benefits. Now you will not have to forcibly take data
Under the new rule, companies will have to offer two types of plans in every validity period:
- Plans with calls, SMS and data
- Call and SMS only plans
This will increase transparency and customers will be able to choose the plan as per their need. Now users will not be forced to take unwanted services.
Big relief for middle class
TRAI says that consumers who do not need data will not have to pay for it. This will especially benefit the elderly, feature phone users and middle class families. Now users will get more options and will be able to choose the right plan as per their budget. Only Calling Plan
When can you give suggestions?
TRAI has sought suggestions from all stakeholders and the general public on this proposal. The last date for this has been fixed as 28th April. After this the rules will be finalized.
