IPL 2026: In the rain-affected match played at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Rajasthan Royals performed brilliantly and defeated Mumbai Indians by 27 runs. Due to continuous rain, the match started late and the overs were reduced to 11-11, but there was a lot of excitement in this reduced overs match. The foundation of Rajasthan’s victory was laid by its stormy start. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi adopted an aggressive approach from the very first over. Jaiswal scored 22 runs in the first over of Deepak Chahar by hitting 4 fours and 1 six, due to which the team quickly gained momentum.

After this, Vaibhav Suryavanshi also did not back down and hit a brilliant six on the very first ball of Jasprit Bumrah and put pressure on the opposition team by hitting another six in the same over. The result of the explosive batting of both the batsmen was that Rajasthan completed 50 runs in just 2.4 overs, which is the second fastest team fifty in IPL history. With this the team also equaled its own old record.

Many personal records were also made in this match. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the batsman to hit most sixes in IPL at the age of 19 years or younger. Jaiswal completed his 100 sixes in IPL and also scored his second consecutive fifty, which continued his excellent form.

An interesting incident was also seen during the match, when Sherfane Rutherford’s 92 meter long six hit a girl sitting in the stands. However, help was provided immediately. Due to rain, the match started late by about 2 hours 40 minutes from the scheduled time, but Rajasthan took full advantage of the situation and played aggressively and did not give Mumbai a chance to make a comeback in the match. With this win, Rajasthan Royals proved that the team is capable of playing fast and effective cricket in any conditions.
