Mohsina Kidwai Passes Away : New Delhi : Congress (Congress) Mohsina Kidwai, who was a politician in the party for many years and a trusted leader of former late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, passed away today (April 08). Former Union Minister Mohsina Kidwai was suffering from age- ailments for some time. Political circles are mourning his death. Mohsina Kidwai’s family and son-in-law, Razi ur Rehman Kidwai, announced her death. He said that Mohsina Kidwai breathed her last at the Metro Hospital in Noida on Wednesday morning. His death has caused mourning in Indian political circles, especially in the Congress party.

Mohsina Kidwai’s family has informed that her body will be cremated at Nizamuddin crematorium in Delhi on Wednesday around 5 pm.

An impressive political journey

Mohsina Kidwai has been a highly respected and prominent figure in Indian politics and the Congress Party. Her political career has been long and illustrious. Mohsina Kidwai, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district, held many important posts as a Union minister under Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. She was elected to the sixth Lok Sabha from the Meerut constituency in Uttar Pradesh and held the same seat in the seventh and eighth Lok Sabhas as well. Kidwai served three terms as MP from Meerut. He also served as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Chhattisgarh from 2004 to 2016.

Mallikarjun Kharge expressed his condolences

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has condoled the demise of former Union Minister Mohsina Kidwai. He wrote, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Smt. Mohsina Kidwai Ji, a strong pillar of the Congress Party and a former Union Minister who dedicated more than six decades of her life to the service of the nation. A long-time MP in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and an honorable member of the Congress Working Committee for many years, she acted as a guiding force for the party even in its most difficult times. Her demise is a great loss to the Congress party and the country,” he wrote. The sentiments are expressed by Mallikarjun Kharge.
