Apple is going to take an important step in the smartphone industry this year. The company’s first foldable smartphone, iPhone Foldmay be launched along with the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026. This device is considered to be the biggest design change since the first iPhone in 2007.
Launch timeline and production
According to recent reports, Apple has started trial production of iPhone Fold at Foxconn factory. Following its launch event, the smartphone may be available for sale in about a week, although initial stock is likely to be limited.
Display and Design
iPhone Fold It will have a 5.5-inch external display and a 7.8-inch internal screen, which will provide an iPad-like experience when opened. Both screens will be equipped with high-refresh-rate AMOLED panels. It may also feature a Liquid Metal hinge and punch-hole cameras on both displays. Apart from this, it is expected to get side-mounted Touch ID in place of Face ID.

This smartphone is Apple’s new A20 Pro Will work on chipset, which will be more powerful than previous models. The camera setup may include a 48MP dual rear system (main + ultrawide) and selfie cameras on both displays.
price and competition
iPhone Fold The price is said to be around $2,400 (₹2.2 lakh). This places it in the ultra-premium category. Compared to the already expensive devices like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Apple’s foldable smartphone could take the segment to even higher heights.
